Record number of sponsors on Team Rynkeby's jerseys
1648 companies and organizations will this year adorn the Team Rynkeby riders' cycling clothing. Never before in the project's 20-year history have so many jersey sponsors been on board. According to Team Rynkeby Foundation's CEO, this is both a sign of the great support that the project encounters, and a testament to the participants' great efforts in a difficult time with covid-19.
When Team Rynkeby's many riders receive their new cycling clothes during the spring, there will be more companies and organizations on the jerseys in the anniversary season 20/21 than ever before. As many as 1648 sponsors add the name and logo to the clothes for the charity project's 59 teams in eight countries. That is an increase of about 9 percent compared to last year. At the same time, Team Rynkeby experiences for the first time that 50 so-called platinum sponsors support the work for the benefit of children with critical illness with more than 13,333 euros (100,000 Danish kroner) each.
"It is simply unique that we have such a great result at the moment," is the conclusion from Team Rynkeby Foundation's CEO, Carl Erik Dalbøge.
Taken in isolation, the director is excited that the project can once again set a record in terms of the number of jersey sponsorships across the countries Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Germany and Switzerland, as well as an international team. But he is particularly impressed that it has succeeded at a time when the covid-19 pandemic has challenged the project in many areas, including the opportunities to raise money.
“One of the cornerstones of Team Rynkeby is the community, and it is no secret that the corona has challenged it fiercely because it has not been possible for us to be together, train together and meet together as we usually do. This makes the result particularly impressive, ”says Carl Erik Dalbøge.
"Therefore, I would like to pass on the greatest praise to all our participants for their work in reaching out to companies and other sponsors, and a similar heartfelt thanks to all our sponsors for supporting our work and project at a time with much uncertainty. I think, overall, it testifies to the fact, that Team Rynkeby has a strong justification, and I see the result as a huge recognition of both the volunteer work and the basic idea of the whole project. It makes me very happy. ”
Carl Erik Dalbøge also says that the funds raised at the beginning of February are approximately equal to last year at the same time. The CEO is therefore optimistic that the overall result from last year can be exceeded if it becomes possible to hold small and larger events over the spring and early summer, including the annual school run, where there is still reason for optimism that the school run will be able to be executed later in the year.
